UCP or Universal Camouflage Pattern (aka Digital Cancer) is universally that worst camo of all time so I suppose it is aptly named. UCP was a multi-billion dollar boondoggle, absolutely horrible. Still is!
UCP also heralded the deployment of the the ACU (Army Combat Uniform), which is the current issue for the US Military, primarily the Army and Air Force. When the ACU first came out in this pattern, stitching was terrible and people frequently blew the ass and knees out of the pants and shredded the elbows of the coats. Later years, the ACU have been made much better with real world feedback.
UCP was retired for Multicam/Scorpion/OCP pattern, but not before billions were wasted. Probably a conspiracy brought to you by Big Surplus so you can buy it twice (once as a tax payer, second as a larper/nostalgia).
All uniforms are used, some faded and frayed more than others. Some are in pretty good shape. You get what you get. NO RETURNS OR REPLACEMENTS!
Good News!
UCP surplus is cheap and these uniforms are very receptive to Rit Dye so you can change the base color to almost anything you like and it looks way cooler. So for a cheap project, give it a try!
