The Army Combat Uniform (ACU) is the evolution of the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU). In service with the US Army, you'll also see Air Force variants of the ACU in rotation.
The FRACU, Flame Resistant Army Combat Uniform, is what is often issued to tankers and other vehicle borne troops. Due to the slight risk of immolation, the Army wanted to make sure they could limit disability ratings for any surviving burn victims. Source? I be knowing things.
These Flame Resistant (FR) variants are made of rayon, aramid, and nylon synthetic fibers that resist melting. Perhaps not as good as wool but a much lighter garment suitable for hot weather or being stuck in a stuffy vehicle. One that's hopefully not on fire.
The FRACU also replaces velcro closure in favor of buttons, big beautiful buttons.
All uniforms are used, some faded and frayed more than others. You get what you get. NO RETURNS OR REPLACEMENTS!
Multicam uniforms: OCP/Multicam/scorpion. It’s all mixed, I don’t care. It’s basically the same camo and I refuse to even attempt to sort them because most of the time I can’t even tell the difference. So you get what you get and you’ll be HAPPY!!!!
